Following his June Talk at THECA, local history enthusiast, Allan Tonks will take us on a guided walk discussing the occupation of Mount Coot-tha by American servicemen during World War 2, and the impact this had on the development of the JC Slaughter and Simpsons Falls picnic areas.  Allan will explain fascinating WW2 facts about the entrance bridge to JC Slaughter Falls picnic area; ‘Camp Cootha’ (Hoop Pine picnic area); the detonator locker and what the exposed concrete slabs reveal about WW2.
