Description:

WALK TO SUGARS QUARRY with Moggill Historical Society

This will take place on Sunday 26 June, starting at 10.00 a.m. from the carpark nearest to the junction of Hawkesbury and Essendon Roads.

The walk will take about 20 minutes to the site where Judith Nissen will give a talk on the history of Sugars Quarry. Judith, a professional historian, designed the interpretative signs which have been installed in the area and is an expert on the industrial heritage materials remaining at the quarry.

We hope that members of the Sugars family will also be on hand to add their own personal reminiscences.

The walk is suitable for people of average fitness and involves some sloping terrain and uneven ground. There is no wheelchair access. Please bring enclosed walking shoes and water and depending on the weather, you might like to bring sunscreen and insect repellent.

There is no need to RSVP – all are welcome to join us. The whole event will take about 2 hours. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Check the Moggill Historical Society Facebook page for further details and updates especially in the event of inclement weather.
