A recent half-day visit to the Indooroopilly site greatly informed THECA members of the revegetation that is occurring under the full direction of UQ, and led by Julia Blumholdt in our western suburbs. 60 Birdwing vines have been planted and more will be to create a refuge for this threatened butterfly.
Early in 2014 THECA members travelled by coaster bus to visit North Stradbroke Island and find out more about natural resource management by Traditional Owners as well as to appreciate this beautiful island on our door-step.
In August 2014 THECA members visited The Qld Museum to find out more about the museum’s Aboriginal repatriation program for remains and artifacts and the fascinating world of spiders (see THECA News Nov 2014).
