The Hut Environmental & Community Association Inc (THECA) is a community group focusing on environmental awareness, education and action. We are based at The Hut Environmental Centre on the edge of Mt Coot-tha Forest Park in the western suburbs of Brisbane. We are all volunteers, and our activities and projects include:

• Monthly talks
• Monthly birdwatching walks

• Bush regeneration
• Workshops and seminars
• Drop-in morning tea
• Survey work and wildlife monitoring
• Regular Forums on topics related to conservation and the environment
• Development of Fact Sheets for flying foxes and other fauna
• Quarterly newsletter
• Volunteer program
• Environmental and natural history library
• Displays and posters on local and broader environmental issues
