• How to make better use of your mobile phone when bush walking
• Simple techniques to overcome the limitations of mobile phones as
navigation and safety devices
• Improve your chances of finding your way or seeking assistance
when disorientated, lost or injured
Paul is an experienced guide and outback traveller into some of the most remote parts of Australia, and before the advent of digital devices and GPS he ran work-
shops in bush navigation and map reading.
Paul has a PhD from the University of Queensland for his ecological modelling of the fauna and flora of Kgari/Fraser Island, and has been a director of Save the BIlby Fund since 2010, helping to implement their ‘Bilby Tracks’ citizen science trips to outback Queensalnd.
General meetings are usually held at The Hut, 47 Fleming Road, Chapel Hill, on the fourth Wednesday of each month from February to November. The Annual General Meeting is usually in April, at the start of the April general meeting, with the April talk immediately afterwards.
